Congratulations Graduates!

Wake Tech's Spring graduation ceremonies are set for 8 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday on Scott Northern Wake Campus. Family and friends unable to attend in person can watch the ceremonies live online.

The Adult High School and High School Equivalency programs will hold their graduation ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Saturday on Scott Northern Wake Campus. Family and friends can watch it live online as well.

Wake Tech Holds 47th Annual Commencement Exercises

Wake Technical Community College graduated the largest class in its history today at the Raleigh Convention Center. More than 1,300 graduates, about 28% more than last year, received degrees and diplomas. That's 28% more graduates than last year. More than 500 graduates participated in the ceremony.

Local emergency responders saw some heart-stopping action on Saturday - collisions, overturned vehicles, and trapped passengers needing rescue. Fortunately, it was all an exercise, part of an intensive day of hands-on training Wake Technical Community College held for fire and rescue personnel in Raleigh on June 19.

Wake Tech Golfer to Play For UNC-P

Wake Tech golfer Scott Colley will transfer and play golf at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke this fall. A star player on the inaugural Wake Tech golf team, Colley tied for 6th place in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division 1 Championship in Huntsville, Alabama in May. He also earned second-team All-American, a first for any Wake Tech athlete.

Wake Technical Community College volleyball head coach George Tsai announces five new recruits for the 2010 season. Brittany Brown of Wilmington, Emily Ellington of Henderson, Clarice Sherard of Dudley, Maria Muna of Fayetteville and Brandy Driver of Louisburg have all signed national letters of intent.

Wake Tech Names New Job Placement Director

Dr. Stephen Scott, president of Wake Technical Community College, has named Deborah Hadley as the new Director of Job Placement and Cooperative Education. Hadley is an HR professional with more than 25 years in the field. She's been an instructor in Wake Tech's Business Technologies Division since 2003, teaching Human Resources Management.

The Wake Technical Community College Foundation is pleased to welcome local business executive and community leader Virginia Parker as the newest member of its staff. Parker joins the Foundation as Director of Strategic Partnerships. She will develop major gifts for the college and work with members of the advisory committees that guide college programs.

Dr. Stephen C. Scott, president of Wake Technical Community College, celebrated Earth Day 2010 with a bold commitment to reduce carbon emissions at the College. With his signature, Dr. Scott joined the American College & University Presidents' Climate Commitment (ACUPCC), a network of more than 680 institutions in all 50 states, working to address climate change.
